Celebrating 100 years of Rotary Club Bristol with Gurkhas and Motivation

September 17, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Rotary Club Bristol are major supporters of our Peaceful Portway event and this year they will be sharing some of their work with us.
They will showcase some of the disater relief work that Rotary does around the world – particularly pertinent at the moment with flooding, refugees and hurricanes! There will be a Sheltrbox and tent on display as well as our Water Survival Boxes
There will also be some Gurkhas for their recent successful Everest climb who will be available to talk to people and that is linked to our work in rebuilding schools in Nepal after the earthquakes and supporting attempts to rebuild after the floods. Please note that the Gurkhas may be called in to help with flood rescue work in the Caribbean, so they may not be able to make it on Sunday.
Another organisation RC Bristol support is Motivation who create, produce and distribute unique wheelchairs to people in need all over the world. They’re also coming along to share their work with us.
Rotary Club Bristol’s main project for this centenary year is the rebuilding of a community centre in Meadowvale in Bristol. To find out more, come along!
