Sky Ride Bristol – 21 June

On 21 June, event organisers and cyclists from Sky Ride Bristol will be using the roadway between Bridge Valley Road and the city centre until 4.00pm. The rest of the Portway, from Sylvan Way to the Great Quarry (see map), will be free of traffic all day for visitors to Portway Sunday Park to enjoy. Walk the Avon Gorge

(Self-guided walk) Surprisingly to many, it is possible to walk up or down the Avon Gorge between Portway and the Downs. There are four different routes – and the better known zig-zag path. Ambling Band and Monkey Puppets

Ambling Band and Monkey Puppets will lead a ‘bandstand-inspired structure’, of recycled materials, to the Clifton Rocks Railway where the final construction will take place. Then an acoustic band will perform until 3pm. David Mitcham’s ‘At the Top of the Tide’ was the winning piece in a competition organised by the Bristol Proms to commission a piece to Celebrate Bristol’s 800th Anniversary in 2016.
